About Walton Recovery
Walton Recovery House for Men is a nonprofit, transitional recovery living facility designed specifically for men who are working to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. We provide a structured environment where accountability and the twelve-step program guide the path to recovery. We stress honesty, cleanliness, and service to build a community rooted in responsibility and mutual respect.
Our mission is simple: give men the stability and accountability they need to stick with recovery. The house operates on the foundation of the twelve steps, but it’s more than that. It’s about building character-being honest with yourself and others, keeping your space and your actions clean, serving the house and the community, and stepping up when the moment calls for it.
Recovery isn’t on your timeline-it’s based on real progress. That’s why we set a minimum stay of three months and a maximum of one year. That window gives residents enough time to work the program and find their footing. Stretch the stay if you need it, shorten it once you’re ready-but your actual time here depends on how you’re doing.
We expect everyone to contribute to the house. That means doing your part, honoring your commitments, and joining the effort to hold the house together-literally and figuratively. Service here doesn’t mean chores alone-it’s stepping into a role, helping a brother out, and holding yourself accountable.
At Walton Recovery House, you live in a place with real American history. The Octagon House used to be on the Underground Railroad-an actual safe house for runaway slaves. Staying here isn’t just about getting sober-it’s about carrying forward a legacy of strength.
That history shapes how we do recovery. You’re not just another guy going through rehab-you’re part of something bigger. You’re living and healing in a place that helped others fight for freedom. That’s not window dressing-that’s real context for what it means to reclaim your life here.
We don’t accept anyone who isn’t ready to own their behavior. You’re not responsible for having an addiction-but you are responsible for your actions. Here, that means showing up, doing the work, and standing behind your word. No excuses.
If you’re ready to build discipline, honor, accountability-and be part of a legacy-Walton Recovery House for Men is your place. Reach out if you want to talk, apply, or see how it works.

We had the honor of being interviewed by NBC 26 where they interviewed us about the history of the house and how the house allegedly had ghosts at some point in time.
